A Visit from J.C.
1
J.C. came down to earth today,to pay a social
call;
But didn't like the things he saw,no really,not
at all.
The trouble and the strife around,the fighting
and the war,
He said "It was the same as this when I was here
before".
I thought that man may yet improve,away from
all his stress,
But still I find that all mankind,is in an awful
mess.
The lying and the cheating,the seven deadly sins;
are still around and thriving,
I guess the devil wins.
2
There were many men he met as he went upon his
way,
but did they really love his Father as they all
did say?
He sought out Seik and Muslim the Hindu and the
Jew,
some calling themselves Christians,all sects,both
old and new.
He met the Baptist and Methodist and still could
not be sure,
There was even Jehovahs' Witnesses,knocking at
his door.
Some he could tell were most sincere,but none
were ever able,
to sit with him,or all agree to eat from the
same table.
3
Some of these so called holy men,as he could
plainly see
lived in palaces and entertained, worldly Kings
and Queens.
They dined upon the very best of meat and drank,
fine wine:
but for thier congregations,they had very little
time.
They wore fine clothes and some were crowned
with diamonds and with rings
Thier robes were trimmed in ermine and other
fancy things;
While all around them,at thier very door,
were weary men,unhappy men,the hungry and the
poor.
4
Just as he was despairing that he should find
real love,
among mankind and caring,a voice came from above.
God spoke aloud to Jesus, from high above the
sky,
"You know my son,you can't give up,just have
another try".
"If you can find just one good soul,t'would still
be all worth while,
so don't despair, continue on and keep a cheery
smile".
So Jesus went upon his way, heart heavy in his
chest,
He called out to his God above," I'll do my very
best.
5
So Jesus still is looking,for that godly man
and you can be sure ,that he,is doing all he
can;
To save mankind from pain and death and you can
plainly see;
That Jesus and his Father.
Still love you and me"
